“NSL set to shake up American soccer with 30-team expansion and promotion/relegation system”

The NSL plans to launch with a minimum of eight teams, with a goal of expanding to 30 teams within five years. The regular season will kick off in the spring and run through the summer, with playoffs taking place in the late summer. The NSL playoffs will feature a single-elimination format, leading up to a highly anticipated championship game that will be broadcast nationally. The league plans to introduce relegation and promotion between multiple NSL leagues, bringing true competitive soccer to America.

“At the NSL, we’re not just launching a league, we’re launching a revolution. We believe that soccer is the sport of the future, and we’re committed to making it the most competitive and exciting league in America. Our goal is not just to have a few teams, but to create a nationwide network of passionate fans and talented players who are dedicated to making soccer the sport of choice for generations to come. With our ambitious plans to expand to 30 teams within five years, introduce relegation and promotion, and create a thrilling playoff format, we’re confident that we’ll be able to create a league that will captivate fans and inspire players from all over America. We’re not just launching a league, we’re launching a movement, and we invite you to join us on this thrilling journey.” – Scott Michaels, NSL Founder
